Design Thinking

The New Advant-age for Business Success

How times have changed. When Henry Ford rolled out his wildly successful T-Model, he famously said ‘Customers can have any colour he wants, so long it is black.” Today, this one-size-fits-all solution does not fit anyone any more. We live in an age of customer experience, and organizations today are beginning to realize the power of Design Thinking. Apple, Starbucks, IBM are just examples of companies which are Design-led, and have consistently outperformed other S&P 500 companies.

What is Design Thinking?

What exactly is Design Thinking? It is a process for creative solutioning. Centred on the customer, Design Thinking guides us to think in the shoes of the end-user, asking ‘what do they need?’ rather than ‘what can we give them?’ This opens up a world of possibilities, and most importantly, opens up our own mindset. Thereafter, a set of creative thinking tools are applied to develop answers to the customer needs – answers that are beyond the boundaries of linear thinking. These are then tested for market fit and hey presto! A product or service that often surprise ourselves.

How can it help me?

In this age of customer-centric values and customer-service culture, Design Thinking takes us beyond lip service and actually develops answers that begin with the customer, is for the customer, and more importantly, appreciated by the customer. Incorporating concept from the latest ideas in lean enterprise, our model of Design Thinking ensures your crazy ideas are actually workable, actionable and desirable. It enables you to:

  • Understand in depth what the customers’ pain points are (Inspiration)Design Thinking Phases
  • Design a product or process that is new (Ideation)
  • Rapidly test your ideas in the market (Implementation)

In short, it is innovation with the right customer ends in mind.
