“You do not lead by hitting people over the head —
that’s assault, not leadership.”
– Dwight Eisenhower
Why the need for a leadership course?
After all, aren’t leaders born, not made? Well, we believe it is a bit of both. Born leaders especially appreciate the wisdom of others who have gone before. This is particular so for the first time leaders – people who suddenly find themselves in charge of people. How do I build trust? How do I motivate? How do I influence? These are issues we examine through a series of well-researched and well-tested frameworks and practical advice. In short, the Leadership Foundations programme enables both you and those under you to enjoy the work, enjoy the challenge and enjoy the results.
What do you learn?
In this programme, we begin with an examination of ourselves – what each of us perceive ourselves as leaders, and our preferred leadership styles. We also learn the pros and cons of each leadership style, and when to use them. Then comes the practical skills of listening, connecting, motivating, influencing and developing people. Lots of hands on, experiential sharing, feedback and growth. Because leadership is a journey.
